The SLS AMG Black Series is the performance oriented variant of the SLS AMG, inspired by the track only SLS AMG GT3. At the time it was released it had the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine fitted to a production vehicle.
It was unveiled at the LA Auto Show in 2012 and went on sale in 2013 until 2014, being a limited production run.
The car was marketed in the new Solarbeam yellow color, which turned out to be the most popular out of the 7 available standard paint options.
