Brass

Brass or also commonly known by its full German name Messing metallic is a really unique BMW paint color. It has been around since the early 2000s when it first featured on the E39 and E46. Nowadays it's still available as an Individual paint option but it's still very rare to see.

The color is quite hard to describe because it changes so much depending on the conditions. It mainly consists of green and bronze, both these colors can change very heavily in tone giving it a totally different appearance. A color which truly has to be seen in person to understand.

It's name comes from the copper and zinc alloy called brass or messing in German. The paint color is quite similar to the material although it must be said that the material mainly has a more gold tone.
