Carbon Black (Carbonschwarz) is a metallic paint which in brighter conditions has a dark blue tone to it. In daylight this often looks more like a dark blue paint color rather than black, unlike the name Carbon Black would suggest.
The color was first introduced on the BMW E39 M5 in 1998 and still features on various models to this day.
Porsche also picked up this color for its extended PTS catalog, but it is quite rare to see.
