Ruby Star Neo was introduced in late 2022 early 2023 as a modern interpretation of the original Ruby Star paint.
The new color was added to the standard paint range as a 'Sonderfarbe' for the 911, 718 and Taycan making it a more affordable option than the original which is only available as a pricy PTS option. The Ruby Star Neo paint option on this car came at a cost of $ 4,220 (compared to the $ 12k for PTS).
It's very hard to tell the difference between the two, especially in pictures. You have to see them side by side to see the true differences.
